New membership packages — Executive Coaching, Executive Advisory, Executive Education — customized to members’ individual leadership goals
More community experiences and bespoke events to build meaningful connections with leaders across Chief’s network
New ‘Chief Concierge’ provides recommendations specific to members’ professional needs — providing personal high-touch service at every step of their journey
Today, Chief, the largest community of senior women executives, introduced a new membership designed to raise the leadership game of its members — with packages tailored to the needs of today’s executive women leaders, new events and experiences that enable members to build even stronger connections across the community, and a concierge service that supports and guides them through every step of their membership.
“When we launched Chief in 2019, it was like lightning in a bottle — women executives across industries came to us with a strong desire for a community of peers,” said Carolyn Childers, Co-Founder and CEO, Chief. “Five years in, Chief is the largest network of senior executive women in the U.S. We’ve been fortunate to learn from thousands of these best-in-class executives about how Chief can have an even stronger impact on their leadership journey and we’re excited to introduce a new membership that’s more customized to their vast and varying needs. Exceptional leadership is not ‘one size fits all’ — and neither are we.”
New Membership Packages:
Recognizing the needs of today’s executives vary based on what they have time to invest in, the state of the business they’re leading, and the rapidly changing landscape they’re operating in, Chief is evolving from one to three distinct membership packages:
- Executive Advisory: Members seeking candid conversations meet regularly in peer advisory groups to discuss a range of leadership topics raised by each member of the group. These executive advisory groups have 8-12 members and are led by an experienced Chief facilitator.
- Executive Coaching: Members seeking an individualized approach to leadership advisory receive 1-on-1 coaching with International Coaching Federation (ICF) or equivalent accredited executive coaches. Chief’s Concierge team pairs members with executive coaches who are aligned to their style of working and level of responsibility.
- Executive Education: Members who want to accelerate critical leadership competencies outside of a coaching setting can participate in live courses taught by renowned academics including Alex Carter, Professor at Columbia Law School and Arlan Hamilton, Founder and Managing Partner at Backstage Capital on topics such as Negotiation Mastery and Inclusive Investing. These courses include interactive lectures and breakout sessions that enable participants to discuss course topics in the context of their business challenges.
“Our new membership was created based on insights and feedback directly from our incredible community,” said Lindsay Kaplan, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer, Chief. “They’ve shared valuable feedback on how we can build on Executive Advisory — the first package we debuted in 2019 and better known as ‘Core’ — and offer additional packages that provide more specific leadership guidance. Community is the beating heart of Chief — that will never change — but we wanted to do more to align our membership with the rapidly-evolving business landscape and the challenges of today’s executive leaders.”
Over the past six months, members have participated in pilots for Executive Coaching and Executive Education. For both services, the overwhelming majority of members said they felt more supported as an executive leader — 96% of Executive Education pilot participants said the skills they learned in the courses made them feel more equipped to lead in today’s business environment and 95% of Executive Coaching pilot participants said the individualized approach helped them successfully navigate professional challenges.
New Community Experiences:
Within all of these membership packages, members can connect across the Chief community both in-person and digitally through a wide variety of events and experiences:
- National Conferences: Members can attend one-day conferences in eight cities across the country, to enjoy inspirational programming with the best and brightest in business. This year’s ChiefX conferences feature talks with visionaries like Sallie Krawcheck, Ellevest Founder and CEO, Oona King, Chief Diversity Officer of Uber, and Fawn Weaver, Founder and CEO of Uncle Nearest as well as workshops and community-building activities.
- Professional Chapters: Members can connect over professional needs and interests — segmented by functional expertise — through professional chapters in major U.S. markets and virtually to build impactful relationships that drive their careers forward.
- Bespoke Events: Members can attend in-person and virtual events throughout the year that focus on sharpening their leadership impact around timely issues and topics impacting business leaders. These events include roundtable discussions on topics such as “Resilient Talent Development Strategies Amidst Challenging Times,” “Future Proofing Your Career for AI,” and “Go Bold: Taking Smart Marketing Risks in 2024.”

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
Chief believes the diversity of its community makes it exponentially more impactful and its vision is a future where one’s identity or expression is not a barrier to leadership. This includes by setting a goal of having representation in its community by doubling industry representation of women of color in leadership positions, curating programming that accounts for intersectional experiences, establishing a grant program to reduce the financial barrier for executives who have historically faced identity-based inequity or are employed in the non-profit sector, and supporting nonprofit organizations that increase career opportunities for girls and young people, and leaders of color. Today, 33% of Chief members identify as a woman of color, in 2023, Chief gave $6 million in membership grants, and Chief is proud to be a signature partner of Girls Inc.’s National Project Accelerate program, which focuses on accelerating young women’s trajectories through college and career entry.
